(1) The concept of decorative base paper

Decorative base paper is a kind of industrial special paper mainly made of commercial wood pulp and inorganic fillers through special processing. After printing and impregnating with melamine resin, it is mainly used as surface layer paper, top layer paper and bottom layer paper for the surface layer of density board, fiberboard, particleboard and other artificial boards, and is ultimately applied in the manufacturing of decorative materials such as laminate flooring, composite doors and panel furniture. Compared with traditional materials, decorative materials made of decorative base paper not only have a variety of patterns and bright colors, but also have many excellent properties such as heat insulation, flame retardancy and non-warpage, and are widely used in the decoration and renovation of medium and high-end buildings such as hotels, shopping malls and residences.

Decorative base paper can be classified into plain decorative base paper, printable decorative base paper, surface wear-resistant base paper, balance base paper, edge banding decorative base paper, ecological decorative paper, etc. based on their application characteristics and uses. Currently, the company's main decorative base paper products are plain decorative base paper and printable decorative base paper.

① Plain decorative base paper

Plain colored decorative base paper is a variety of single color decorative base paper used for veneer of artificial boards. After being impregnated with melamine resin, it can be used to make decorative layer paper for various artificial boards such as medium density fiberboard and particleboard. Its colors are bright and beautiful, and the layering is prominent, without the need for secondary printing. The board made of solid colored decorative base paper is not warped, cracked, easy to clean, environmentally friendly, and has unparalleled advantages over solid wood.

② Printable decorative base paper

Printable decorative base paper is a type of decorative base paper that can print various patterns. After being impregnated and cut with melamine resin, it can be used to make laminated veneers for panel furniture and reinforced wood flooring. This type of product can print various exquisite wood grain and patterns according to personalized needs.

③ Surface wear-resistant base paper

Surface wear-resistant base paper is a decorative base paper with added wear-resistant material aluminum oxide (Al2O3). After impregnation with melamine resin, it is mainly used to make the surface protection of decorative panels such as reinforced wood flooring and high-end panel furniture. It is a key material that determines the service life of reinforced wood flooring.

④ Balanced base paper

After impregnation, shearing, and high-temperature and high-pressure treatment with melamine resin, the balanced base paper is mainly pressed onto the bottom layer of reinforced wood flooring and high-end panel furniture to balance the stress of the board, thereby stabilizing the flatness of the board and preventing warping and deformation. In addition, it can effectively prevent water from seeping into the back of the floor and improve the moisture-proof performance of the product.

⑤ Edge banding decorative base paper

After printing, impregnating with melamine resin, and drying, the decorative base paper for edge banding can be used for furniture edge banding of various artificial boards such as particleboard, MDF, particleboard, plywood, etc. Compared with other decorative base papers, edge banding decorative base paper has better smoothness, good permeability, stable expansion coefficient and other characteristics. However, due to the small usage of this type of product, the market demand is not high.

⑥ Ecological decorative paper

Ecological decorative paper belongs to a new variety of decorative base paper, and its use is similar to that of plain decorative base paper and printable decorative base paper, mainly used for artificial board decoration. On the basis of traditional solid color decorative base paper and printable decorative base paper, process improvements have been made, and downstream board manufacturers have reduced immersion and other processes, which can lower their production costs. At present, the product is still in its infancy and its market demand has not been fully developed. It is expected that in the future, with the maturity of ecological decorative paper production technology and the improvement of product quality, its market demand is expected to grow rapidly.
